Karen, the owner of Shear Genius, started her own mobile hairdressing business at the age of nineteen. She worked in Switzerland to gain experience of European styles in addition to being trained by Andrew Collinge, Rita Rusk and Toni & Guy. Karen holds an NVQ Level 6 as well as being a qualified trichologist. She is trained in Racoon Hair extensions, including the Hair in Recovery system. Plus, she is also a qualified florist and wig specialist, as well as being a wig fitter for The Little Princess Trust.
Karen opened the Shear Genius salon in 2003 and Shear Wigs in 2013.

LAUREN
Lauren joined the Shear Genius team in 2016 as a Saturday girl and progressed to being full-time, initially as a junior and then gained her qualifications in hairdressing to become a junior stylist. Now, she is a qualified hairdresser, wig specialist and a qualified wig fitter for the Little Princess Trust.
KACI
Kaci joined the Shear Genius team in 2026. She started off by doing her work experience with us and she now helps us out as a junior on Saturdays and after school. She can't wait until she finishes school and can start her hairdressing journey!
ELLIE
Ellie opened The Beauty Room within Shear Genius Hairdressing in 2013 and she's been here ever since! Ellie offers a variety of treatments; from nails, to brows, to lashes and everything in between. She is constantly looking out for new treatments and trends and offering new services.
CARLA
Carla joined us in 2026 when she opened her business, Boujjee Beauty, within the salon. She offers a variety of different facials, micro needling, waxing, brow and lash treatments, nails and more.
